1-day 'holiday tour' "Mirow Lakes": from / to Kanustation Mirow

Route

Kanustation Mirow - Mirower See - Zotzensee - Mössensee - Vilzsee - Fleeth - and back, but turn right in Mirow at the boat harbour and paddle via a very low passage around the Schloßinsel and the Liebesinsel.

Distance: approx. 22 km.

Of course you can shorten this tour. Just turn back earlier.

Sights

The Schloßinsel in Mirow is worth a visit. At the moment the castle is closed due to renovation, but you can visit the church and climb the steeple. The Liebesinsel is worth a walk. Getting out of the boats is a little bit difficult, since the footbridges are only suitable to a limited extend for canoes. The tourist-information is situated at the bridge to the Schloßinsel.

In Fleeth, at the reversal point of this day tour, is a small beach (please, its essential to land right of it and outside the swimming zone) and a small shop, where you can buy ice-cream.

The boathouses in Mirow at the lake Mirower See an at the channel are especially worth seeing.

The complete route is a federal water way. Thus, it is higly frequented  by motorboats especially during holiday and weekends.

Restaurants

You get good meals with an awesome view at "Strandrestaurant Mirow" (Tel.: 039833 - 20806). Here you also find a nice beach.
